About the Ikoketse Program

Anyone who has a Grade 12 and is between the ages of 18 and 29 with a South African ID qualifies for the program. The applicant cannot be connected to the company participating in the program.

No, the program is a training program that is done online as well as at campuses around the country. Our virtual classroom technology creates a virtual classroom environment where the facilitator and student interact with each other. This is done via recorded audiovisual training sessions, interactive whiteboard and screen sharing of teaching notes.

A monthly report will be supplied, summarizing all the students on the program, those who left the program and new ones added. A download of all the information that is required will be supplied on the 1st of every month which will contain the entries into the payroll and the amount to be entered on the EMP201 form to SARS in order to claim the ETI rebate.

Tshwane Institute of Technology, founded in 2005 and has grown to be a leader in skills development and is accredited by:

  • Quality Council for General and Further Education and Training. (Umalusi)
  • Quality Council for Trades and Occupation. (QCTO)
  • Construction Education and Training Authority. (CETA)

The 1st year course is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program to prepare the student to enter the workplace and to pursue further qualifications if they so desire. A certificate is provided on completion.

There are many courses which may or may not be multiyear programs based on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Each course is designed such that a certification level can be achieved each year. For Example:

  • 1st Year NQF4
  • 2nd Year NQF5
  • 3rd Year NQF6

There are various disciplines in which to qualify. For example:

Engineering, Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Human Resources, Secretarial, Medical, Educare.

ETI is a Government program designed to incentivise companies to assist in reducing the huge pool of unemployed and possibly unemployable people in South Africa

It is funded by enabling participating companies to claim a rebate of R1500 per candidate from their PAYE.
